METAL TO THE MASSES 2026 - heat 4 // rebellion, manchester

We have made it to the halfway point of Metal to the masses and we have seen some great bands so far, in this heat battling it out for a spot is Gloom 49, Bruteallies, Auraboros and Old painless

Kicking the night off was Gloom 49 a five piece metalcore band from Deeside,Northwales UK, from the get go they showed a niche and unique sound using an intro track to build suspense before the band came on stage, they opened with their song rusted crown which had an ever increasing tempo and really showed off their skills as a band with them all working as one, they showed this with technical guitar work, crushing breakdowns and versatile vocal range the lead showed good energy bouncing around the stage to the music throughout.

Following on from Gloom 49 was Bruteallies a five piece Thrash/Death metal band from Manchester, UK, The band had high energy and worked in sync on stage with the pounding, groundshaking drum beats and the brutal and heavy guitar riffs providing a beat that everyone vibed to by headbanging throughout, the vocalist showed impressive vocals with his gutturals and screams that could be heard throughout the venue, they showed great crowd control by keeping everyone's energy up the whole set.

Next to hit the stage was Auraboros a three piece metalcore band from Manchester, UK, The band instantly showed us they can work in perfect harmony as a unit with the chugging of the guitar, the beats from the drums providing the muscle, the band's vocal harmonies added a haunting richness, the floor was in constant motion from headbanging , moshpits and even walls of death, with vocalist (Aisling Killey) commanding the crowd they showed great crowd control with the energy never dipping, the set was elevated visually with and the unique look of the band and superb lighting design which shifted perfectly with the music's mood.

Last but by no means least to hit the stage was Old painless a five piece Fuzzy/Heavy rock band from Manchester, UK, known for their riff driven sounds and energetic live performances, the band has a blend of sounds including heavy rock and alternative influences and they certainly didn't disappoint the razor sharp guitar riffs and pounding drum beats bounced off the walls creating an energy that didn't drop the whole set the soaring range of the vocals was equally as impressive landing every note. The lighting design perfectly complemented the bands vibe and style shifting with every song, the crowd thoroughly enjoyed the set moving and headbanging from start to finish.
