Getting ready for the battle of the motorheads: PRESIDENT and Phil Campbell command Takedown Festival 2026
Portsmouth – April isn’t ready for this. Coming up in spring next year, the legendary Portsmouth Guildhall will transform into the epicentre of heavy music with Takedown Festival 2026 dropping its explosive headliners – PRESIDENT, for their first festival headline slot and the timeless rock force Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, delivering a Motorhead tribute that promises to reignite the soul of rock.
Line-up highlights include: Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons closing off Friday, 2 April 2026 with an homage to the father of rock Lemmy Kilmister, and PRESIDENT, who have taken the world by waves due to their enigma making their first ever festival headline performance on Saturday 4 April 2026. More artists are yet to be announced, but judging by the headliner slots, we expect nothing short of rock royalty.
Takedown Festival was resurrected in 2023 after an eight-year hiatus and relocated from Southampton University to a more spacious Portsmouth Guildhall to reclaim its status as one of the UK’s most loved independent rock and metal events. It has been the home of many upcoming artists who proved their status as rising stars by headlining Takedown and going into headlining the likes of Download and Bloodstock, whilst the festival itself has earned nominations for Best Small Festival, Best Metropolitan Festival and the Grassroots Festival Award.
